Foursquare reaches 10 check-ins per second

Checking my Twitter account i just noticed the below tweet by Foursquare.

Globally Foursquare is now generating 10 check-ins per second.
ie.
- 600 per minute
- 36,000 per hour
- 864,000 per day

Almost a million check-ins per day! I am sure they will reach that milestone soon.


Remember when it was a big deal that we were doing 1 checkin per second? Ah, those were the days… we’re 10+ checkins per second right nowless than a minute ago via webfoursquare normal Foursquare reaches 10 check ins per secondfoursquare

It seems Geo-location services like Foursquare is all the hype at the moment. I wonder how Gowalla is going in comparison?

It seems Gowalla have had a slight issue with the iPhone app over the last few days and a fix has been rolled out.
