We have seen the success of retailers and restaurants in the US using Foursquare as a marketing tool, but in Australia we have not seen all that much action yet.
However, I noticed Wagamama in Sydney CBD has been one of the earlier businesses in Australia to use Foursquare as a marketing tool.
The have many specials on such as a free soup for every 5th check-in.
Last night i noticed for a sustained period of time (2 hours +) there were 10+ people checked into the venue.
I am yet to come across any other Australian businesses using Foursquare with such results.
Below is a screen shot of Wagamama last night attracting a raft of Foursquare users.

Last night Wagamama held a national tweet up, and encouraged people to check in on Foursquare, which probably explains the number of people there!

Thanks Grant!
Wagamama in Brisbane CBD whenever I’ve been there has at least 10+ people on foursquare — they have the same special.
