Google Plus User Numbers Australia – October 2011

We recently reported that Google Plus reached 40 million users around the world, as reported by Google CEO Larry Page.

According to checkbook.com, Australia has 1.44% of the global Facebook population.

My Estimation for Australian Google Plus users – October 2011

Therefore to work out the Google Plus stats for Australia, 1.44% of 40 million = 576,000.

However Google Plus does not allow users under 18, which is 12.8% of the Facebook Australia population.

Therefore if we minus 12.8% off 576,000 we get 502,272 Australian’s on Google Plus.

In my opinion this is a good start by Google, but they really need to improve on engagement as some of my contacts on Google Plus don’t post anything!

These statistics do differ from our Google Plus stats for September, mainly because we were taking an estimation from unofficial stats.
