Here is what Facebook’s ‘Want’ Button Will Look Like

There has been much speculation over the past couple months about Facebook’s Want button as developers have seen new code introduced into Facebook’s Javascript SDK back in June.

For a brief moment of time the button actually rendered live! using the simple code of:

<fb:want href="..."></fb:want>

Another blogger in the US, Tom Waddington grabbed some screenshots before Facebook stopped allowing the button to render.

Here is how it looked:

As you can see there is a shopping bag, but it is not so blatantly ‘salesy’.

Other non-english developers are also reporting this code showing in the translations app, so a global roll out is no doubt coming soon.

Will this button be the boost into e-commerce Facebook is looking for?

Will every major e-commerce player around the world integrate the Facebook Want button?
