Liam Walsh appointed to Australian Facebook Chief
Facebook this morning have appointed Liam Walsh as the interim chief to the Australian Facebook operation.
Mr Walsh has been the Sales Director for Facebook Australia since mid 2011 and now he takes the reigns from Paul Borrud who resigned earlier in January to spend more time with his family and othert projects.
Mr Walsh previously held positions for Fairfax and also in Microsoft’s Advertising Division. Walsh also confirmed today that Facebook has 11.5 million users in Australia, a figure very much close to those reported in our monthly stats.
Facebook don’t really use the CEO position title for regional operations, but you could say Liam Walsh is now the interim CEO of Facebook Australia.
A search continues to find a permanent replacement for the Chief Executive role.
