LinkedIn Rolls Out ‘Sponsored InMail’ Advertising Product In Australia

on February 12, 2015 | LinkedIn | Comments (0)

LinkedIn is now offering businesses in Australia the opportunity to utilise a whole new advertising product – Sponsored InMail.

Sponsored InMail allows businesses to send out targeted InMails/Direct Messages to a wide audience – in Australia and worldwide.

Similar in a way to Twitter Direct Messages, LinkedIn InMail has been around for many years – allowing users of LinkedIn to share private messages among users.

Twitter however doesn’t offer ‘Sponsored Direct Messages’ as an advertising product at this time. Many Twitter users may find this too intrusive, whereas LinkedIn’s more business savvy audience understand that advertising keeps these sites going.

sponsoredinmaillinkedinNow businesses will have the opportunity to use this product to advertise their services.

It will be interesting to see the effectiveness of this feature and also how much money LinkedIn can make off it.
