LinkedIn stats update – Global and Australia

LinkedIn has seen phenomenal growth over the past couple years. Now-days on a global scale LinkedIn is signing up 1 million new members every 10 days, or just over 3 million members a month.

With an estimated 500 million global professionals, LinkedIn is well on its way to well to truly capturing this lucrative market.

LinkedIn has released some global stats recently with various demographic metrics.

Average age: 43 years old
54% male, 46% female

Average House hold income – approx $107,000 USD

Over 7 million Directors or above

7.5 million Financial Service professionals

5.5 million IT professionals

3.5 million Marketing/ Advertising professionals

Over 2 million corporate executive working for a company of 500 employees or greater.

In Australia LinkedIn now has over 1 million members out of an estimated professional workforce of approximately 5 million.
