Pinterest has finally opened their social network to the public, removing the Invitation Registration feature previously set.

For around 2 years you have had to register for an invite to the social network, which was usually approved within 2 business days or so. Considering millions of people use Pinterest on a daily basis I find it hard to believe the invite system was being manually checked by Pinterest staff.

You can now signup directly to Pinterest without any waiting period by using your Facebook or Twitter account, or just your email address.

According to our latest Social Media Stats, around 620,000 Australian’s visited the Pinterest website in July.
