Privacy search engine to launch in Australia




A new search engine is coming to Australia that focuses on the privacy of user searches – www.Startpage.com/au

Startpage is made by a company in the Netherlands called Ixquick and several representative will be coming to Australia in early June to speak with Government officials and privacy advocates.

Ixquick CEO Robert Beens commented: ‘The serious problems of Internet censorship and personal data collection in Australia are issues of worldwide concern. We are reaching out to help with the launch of Startpage AU’.

Startpage does not track IP addresses or use tracking cookies unlike other major search engines Bing, Yahoo and Google.

The service will officially launch June 3.
