Social Media campaign to reduce smoking rates

The Cancer Council of South Australia has recently been using several social media channels to spread their messages about anti-smoking campaigns.

Cancer Council SA CEO, Professor Brenda Wilson said social media has the potential to reduce South Australia’s smoking rate from 20% to 17%.

Every year a little over 1100 people die from smoking.

The Cancer Council is looking for new ways to publish their anti-smoking campaigns and it looks like using social media will be an effective avenue.
