10% of Digg staff laid off

According to Digg company reps, 10% of their staff have just be laid off.

A month ago, Jay Adelson who was CEO of Digg was also let go and replaced by company founder Kevin Rose.

Rose said to employees: “This is one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make recently but we strongly believe that it is the right decision for the long-term health of the company. In order to achieve our goals, we are putting more emphasis on the engineering and development efforts.”

It is understood the company is still hiring Engineers to keen inline with company strategy.
