Facebook Rolls Out New Logo And Friends Icon

Facebook has today rolled out a new logo with some subtle changes, making the font more uniform and flat.

Here is Facebook’s new logo:

However Facebook went on to make some further changes with their friends icon.

Previously the lady in the picture was behind the man, and even had a little ‘chip’ on her soldier:

Facebook Design Manager, Caitlin Winner posted on her Medium account about how they have updated the friends icons to be more gender neutral.

Here is the new design (old style light blue, new style dark blue):

Group Icons also got an update with the female icon taking centre (old style light blue, new style dark blue) :

Facebook is very much promoting equality across the board, as late last month we saw them roll out a Rainbow Profile Picture tool in support of marriage equality.
