Social Media finally mounts Porn….online that is

Rarely do we discuss porn, well not at the family dinner table anyway, but its universal, and VERY popular. Oh please, you know it is, whether its for your own personal pleasure, or just a laugh with friends (we’ve all been there) its popular, ok. If you’re still not sure, every second, yes 1 second, more than $3,000 is spent on online pornography. Oh and every 39 minutes there is another pornography website created in the United States.

This is a massive industry, and for years they lead the online throne. Pornography was the highest viewed content on the internet. That all changed in 2010. Now, whether that’s thanks to Justin Bieber I’m not sure, but Social Media has knocked porn off the top!

What are the dots for? I was giving you time to think how much time you spend watching porn online, and updating your friends via Social Media. Hopefully, you’ve confirmed that you’re creeping your friends or connecting with your customers far more than….well, you get the point.

Now I know that I’ve slightly trivialized this whole issue but stop and think about it. Social Media is now bigger than porn online. This is an enormous step, primarily for parents who let their kids have a laptop in their room, alone, with the door closed. But with Social Media now reigning king is there any stopping it? There have been a few people that forecaste the demise of sites such as Facebook, or doomed it to a fate similar to Myspace. That fate of course being consumed by a massive conglomerate who pumps money into it, until finally (hasn’t occurred yet) they realize the service is a lost cause against Facebook. Yet it seems that the service is just gaining momentum. With an estimated $4 billion dollars being spent on social media advertising this year alone I certainly can’t see the end coming, and if it is, no one tell Justin Bieber.

While I seem to go non-stop on the same issue, maybe you porn lovers will get it now. You simply can’t afford to pretend Social Media is a fad. It’s here now and you need to be apart of it!
