You can now announce your pregnancy on Facebook

Facebook have just made a tweak to their site so users can now announce their Pregnancy as a Life Event on their timeline.

Previously there was an option to announce your expected child, but this option wasn’t used much and hence Facebook have seen the need to build a better alternative.

To announce your pregnancy, simply view your timeline and press Life Event.

Then click Family & Relationships and Expecting a baby.

You can then go on to fill out the rest of our details and this will populate on your profile:

If this option is not yet available on your profile, it should be soon as it rolls out globally.

There is a potential revenue opportunity for Facebook here – companies targeting ads to women who have announced they are pregnant.
