Social Media Statistics Australia, May 2011
So we have had a busy May and it’s now time to collate our monthly Social Media statistics wrap up of what’s happening in Australia.
For your information you can find all the statistics we are collating on our Social Media Stats page.
Of course – should you have any of your own stats you would like to share, please contact us.
This month I have taken a slightly different approach at the Facebook stats by using checkfacebook.com which I believe is more accurate than the Google Adplanner Tool. Everything else is looking at Unique Australia Visitors to each site.
Here are the stats for May 2011:
1. Facebook – approx 10 Million user accounts (12M UAVs)
2. Youtube – 9.8 million UAVs / mo (down 200,000)
3. Blogspot – 4.6 UAVs / mo (up 100,000)
4. WordPress – 2.2 million UAVs / mo (down 200,000)
5. Twitter – 1.8 million UAVs / mo (down 200,000)
6. LinkedIn – 1.8 million UAVs / mo
7. Flickr – 1.5 million UAVs / mo
8. MySpace – 1 million UAVs / mo (down 100,000)
9. Tumblr – 930,000 UAVs / mo (up 110,000)
10. Digg – 200,000 UAVs / mo
11. StumbleUpon – 150,000 UAVs / mo (down 20,000)
12. Reddit – 100,000 UAVs / mo
13*. Foursquare 64,000 UAVs / mo (down 13,000)
14. Delicious – 69,000 UAVs / mo (up 1,000)
15*. Gowalla 8,600 UAVs / mo (down 900)
If anyone has any user registration stats for Foursquare and Gowalla in Australia I would be very interested to hear.
We hope this gives you a little insight into what is happening in the Australian Market.
