Social Media Statistics Australia – June 2011





It’s that time of the month again where we collate our Social Media Statistics for the most popular social networking websites in Australia – June 2011.

Please note I used checkfacebook.com for the Facebook stats, and for all other sites I use the Google Adplanner tool, which allows you to view Australian unique visitor stats for each site.

Social Media Statistics Australia -  June 2011

1. Facebook – 10.4 million users in Australia
2. Youtube – 9.9 million UAVs / mo (down 100,000)
3. Blogspot – 5.6 UAVs / mo (up 1.1 million)
4. WordPress – 2.3 million UAVs / mo (down 100,000)
5. LinkedIn – 2 million UAVs / mo (up 200,000)
6. Twitter – 1.9 million UAVs / mo (down 100,000)
7. Flickr – 1.5 million UAVs / mo
8. MySpace – 1 million UAVs / mo (down 100,000)
9. Tumblr – 900,000 UAVs / mo (up 80,000)
10. Digg – 160,000 UAVs / mo (down 40,000)
11. StumbleUpon – 150,000 UAVs / mo (down 20,000)
12. Reddit – 100,000 UAVs / mo
13. Delicious – 76,000 UAVs / mo (up 8,000)
14*. Foursquare 63,000 UAVs / mo (down 13,000)
15*. Gowalla – no data, previous month – 9,500 UAVs / mo

Most noticeable changes this month is LinkedIn overtaking Twitter, and the recent popularity of Tumblr is increasing it’s user-base in Australia.
