1 million new PayPal accounts per month

eBay’s online commerce site, PayPal, is now getting 1 million new account signups per month.

eBay generated $2.215 billion in revenue during Q2.

PayPal on the other hand generated $817 million in revenue.

Over the last couple years eBay has been losing ground to Amazon and other online retailers. The online auctioning system was popular in the 90s and early 20s but it seems consumers are moving away from auction based internet sales.

In the next couple years we may see PayPal become eBay’s main business and revenue source.
