New chairman of The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Rod Sims has admitted the organisation has not always engaged the best it could with small and medium sized businesses.

Mr Sims has said the ACCC is looking to increase it’s use on Social Media platforms to connect better with the SME market.

This is a good move, as many other Government organisations both in NSW and federally (eg ATO) have embraced social media to connect with a wider portion of the public.

Mr Sims also said that the ACCC was considering making a Facebook page, Twitter account and also iPhone / iPad applications – allowing us to access ACCC services on mobile devices.

We will keep you updated as we hear more about the ACCCs plans to integrate Social Media and when they launch their social networking accounts.
