Ads now in your Twitter Stream
You may have noticed that Twitter is now putting ads in your Twitter Stream.
Specifically these are promoted tweets from companies you are not following.
Here is an example of an Australian advertiser this afternoon when I logged into Twitter:
You then have the option to Dismiss (remove) the ad from your stream if it is not to your liking.
In this case Virgin Australia is offering some cheap flights to customers – seems like a good idea after the Qantas Twitter Fail.
These ads are not cheap however, from my estimations costing in the tens of thousands of dollars.
I will be keeping track on Australian advertisers and shall let you know if I come across something interesting.
