How can you use Alexa for SEO purposes?

Most SEO professionals use the Alexa toolbar, even if they won’t admit it.

Today we will look at how you can use the Search Engine on Alexa.com to gain inbound links.

Say today we have the task of building links from Australian web directories or submission sites – how can Alexa do this? Well follow these steps below.

Step 1. Goto Alexa.com and searchSubmit

Step 2. Click the Advanced Search Button next to the search field

Step 3. Refine the results by the counrtry you want to target. In our case – Australia

You will then be presented with a list of sites geared towards the Australian market where you can submit your website to. You can also add keywords to this search query to try and finding different types of sites more specific to your niche.

How else can we use Alexa for SEO?

Competitor Research – Look up your competitors Alexa website listing, click on the Links button which shows the number of sites linking in to that particular domain.

Scroll through this list and see if you can get links on these websites as well.
