Australia and the Social Web
As Australian’s we spend more time on social media sites than any other country in the world – at around 8 hours per month for the average user.
But what sort of social networking activities are we getting involved in and to what extent?
Australian social media figures:
– Approximately 5 million Australian users of social media / networking sites
– 4.9 million users upload pictures online
– 1.5 million users upload videos online
– 1.4 million users have their own blog
– 700,000 users use a micro-blogging service, eg Twitter.
This is a high proportion of the Australian population using social media sites.
