Australia posts 80 Tweets a second
According to a National research study by University of Technology Sydney (UTS), on average Australian’s send out around 80 tweets per second, or 5000 Tweets a minute on average – which equates to about 234 million tweets a month.
Dr Suresh Sood from UTS undertook the study and has a number of other interesting facts, including:
– 58% of all Tweets come out of Sydney or Melbourne
– Melbourne Twitter users were more social than Sydneysiders
– Twitter users from Adelaide were the nicest
– Sydney users swear the most, Brisbane comes in second
– Canberra Twitter users were the most aggressive
Dick Costello, Twitter CEO recently reported around 250 million tweets are posted every day.
