Bing Search out of Beta

Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, is now out of beta.

Bing and Yahoo7 have struck a deal to power Yahoo Searches in Australia – if you run a web search on Yahoo.com.au (au.yahoo.com) this is now powered by Bing. Therefore your Bing SEO is more important than ever.

If you visit www.bing.com it is now localised to show Australian content and homepage photos.

Some other interesting stats:

  • Bing search now powers 7% of search queries in Australia
  • Nearly 3 million Australian’s use Bing search each month – this is 20% of the online population
  • 1.25 million Australian businesses are listed on Bing Local

It will be interesting to keep track of the Bing search share in Australia and we will report figures to you in the future.

Also the global integration of Facebook and Bing will surely help Microsoft’s search engine gain more share.
