Communications Minister not happy with Facebook and Google privacy
The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy – Stephen Conroy has expressed his concern about Google’s recent privacy hitch when their Streetview cars were collecting WiFi data from private homes around Australia.
Conroy remarked about Google: ‘They consider that they are the appropriate people to make the decisions about people’s privacy data’.
Stephen Conroy is also the senator responsible for leading the agenda to create a nation wide internet filter – blocking many sites determined by the Government.
Conroy has also made comments about Facebook: (Facebook is a) ‘corporate giant who is answerable to no one and motivated solely by profit’.
