Facebook ad share growing
Facebook’s share of the online ad market increased to 16 percent in the first quarter of 2010 from 11 percent in the 4th quarter of 2009. More and more advertisers have been willing to try Facebook’s advertising platform.
Facebook’s market share beat Yahoo with 12 percent of ad impressions in the first quarter of 2010, down from 13 percent in the fourth quarter of 2009.
Microsoft held 5.5 percent of the total ad impressions which is not much a change to the previous quarter.
In the first quarter of 2010 the total number of ad impressions topped over 1 trillion globally.
In April 2009 Facebook had about 200 Million registered users. Now just over a year later Facebook has surpassed 400 Million users globally.
