Facebook changes Homepage to promote Timeline
Facebook has updated their homepage (and also logout page) with a new style to promote the Timeline profile layout.
Specifically, Facebook has emedded the promotional Timeline video on the homepage, and also a link to information on the new profile design.
This is a rather ‘personal’ video, Facebook knows there is a big 2012 ahead for them and this sort of marketing could attract even more new users, especially as Facebook is on course to reach 1 billion users this year.
Timeline gives users much richer tools to share their story, including deep integration with a number of lifestyle apps – Spotify (not yet available in Australia), Nike + GPS, Yahoo News, Cooking apps and much more. In fact as many companies start building more lifestyle apps into Facebook, our profiles will be getting new info that’s never before been available for us to publish.
