Facebook Passes 500 Million Users

Facebook has announced that it has passed 500 million members.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a blog post: ‘I could have never imagined all of the ways people would use Facebook when we were getting started 6 years ago. I want to thank you for being part of making Facebook what it is today and for spreading it around the world.’

Zuckerberg also announced the launch of Facebook Stories – looking at all the interesting ways that people have used the social network around the world.

Everyone is asking, how big Zuckerberg thinks he Facebook can get.

1 billion users?

Facebook’s revenue is approaching $1 billion and they are working hard on mobile products that can help Facebook extend its reach in the developing world. It seems 1 billion users may well be possible.
