Facebook to Build New 300,000 Square Foot Data Centre

As a result of Facebook’s massive growth over the past year, and now hitting 500 million users globally – the company has decided to build a 300,000 square foot datacentre in Prineville, Oregon – USA.
Facebook is designing the data centre with energy efficiency in mind and utilising the latest ‘green’ technologies to do this.
It is expected the data center will use 30 Mega Watts of energy when operating which is enough power to light 30,000 homes.
Greenpeace has created a Facebook group to encourage and garnish support for Facebook to utilise green technology across all its data centres.
