Facebook to launch Verified Accounts
Similar to Twitter and Google Plus, Facebook is going to be launched Verified Accounts to users with a large number of subscribers.
Whilst Verified Facebook accounts will not get a special badge on the profile, they will show more often as a Suggested Subscription: http://www.facebook.com/subscriptions/suggestions/ – obviously getting special prominence in Facebook’s edgerank algorithm.
A number of official government documents have to be uploaded to Facebook to become verified (similar to verifying a PayPal account).

Facebook will be contacting popular users over the next few days as this product gets started.
The most subscribed person on Facebook is still Mark Zuckerberg – http://www.facebook.com/zuck with over 11.5 million subscribers.
