Facebook Updates News Feed + Real Time Updating

This afternoon Facebook has rolled out some new features for their News Feed and also a tab showing Real Time updating.

There have been 3 main changes:

– News Feed, top stories

– News Feed, regular updates

– Real Time Updating widget

1. The News feed has been changed showing Top Stories first

These would be top photos or status updates from your friends you may have missed – no doubt determined by Facebook’s Edgerank algorithm.

2. Underneath Top stories will be regular status updates in chronological order.

3. Real Time Updating

Facebook will now show you in realtime what your friends are doing on the site, eg status updates, commenting, liking pages etc.

I really like this Real Time updating feature. Kind of like a Twitter stream showing friends activity.
