First Nokia/ Windows Phone released
The first Nokia Windows Phone has been released at the Nokia World Conference in London last night (Australia time).
The phone is a Nokia Lumia 800.
Specifications include:
- 1.4 GHz processor
- hardware acceleration
- graphics processor
- 512 MB of RAM
- 16 GB hard drive/ internal memory
- Carl-Zeiss 8-megapixel camera
The phone will run on the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Operating System.
The phone gets a number of nifty features such as: Nokia Drive – a free turn by turn GPS navigation system, Nokia Music, MixRadio, Internet Explorer 9 Mobile and also deep integration with Microsoft Office 365 and Xbox services. There will also been a Windows app store. It’s also worth noting that users will get free access to Microsoft’s SkyDrive allowing 25GB of storage in the cloud.
For the social media enthusiasts – People Hub gives you direct access to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
The phone is available for sale in Europe, Asia and the US to start with – I expect that we’ll see the phone in Australia early 2012.
In my opinion this looks like a great phone and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on this and testing it out.
