Google claims that Microsoft Office 2010 lacks Cloud Collaboration
Microsoft has responded to the comments by Google that Microsoft Office 2010 lacks the online calibration needed, something Google claims Google Apps and Google Docs does well.
Tracy Overby, senior marketing manager – Microsoft Office Products responded with: ‘Microsoft delivers the best productivity experience and we have the results to prove it. After more than a decade of delivering collaboration solutions, our customers trust us to meet their business needs.’
Google claims the cloud based, ie web based functions of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel does not offer real time online collaboration like Google Docs.
So far 8.6 million users have downloaded the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta product.
Both Microsoft and Google are fighting for their positions in the cloud.
