Google Launches Disavow Links Tool

In the world of SEO, a lot of it comes down to having a large number of quality links pointing to your site. We are also starting to see social signals influence search rankings but mostly it is your backlink profile.

Over the recent Panda and Penguin updates, Google has started to penalise websites with bad and spammy backlink profiles. As a result many webmasters said they could be influenced by their competitors whom spam their website with spammy links.

Google has finally (many months after Bing) launched a tool where you can signal to Google certain backlinks are not under your control and they shouldn’t influence your search engine ranking.

It’s important to know your average webmaster doesn’t need to use this tool.
