Google+ now open to under 18s

on January 27, 2012 | Google Plus | Comments (2)

Google has opened up their Google Plus social network so teanagers aged 13-17 are now allowed to use the site.

Previously Google banned any users under 18 from using the website. Google has also added increased security and privacy controls for users aged under 18.

So are we going to see lots of teens singing up to Google+?

I am not convinenced at this stage. But if we think where Facebook and Twitter are probably blocked at most schools, there is probably more chance than Google+ isn’t blocked.

Google now claims there are 90 million members on their social network, but user engagement seems much less than Twitter, LinkedIn and of course Facebook.
