HelloTxt V Ping.FM – battle of social status distribution
If you like sharing your social content across a wide variety of social networks it is smart to use a distribution service to help keep all your feeds in one central place.
There are 2 main players that come to mind.
HelloTxt – www.hellotxt.com
Ping.FM – www.ping.fm
Both system will post your status updates across about 50 social networking sites. They both send to the majors such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn + a variety of other sites in both english and non english languages.
There is even a wordpress plugin which will send your update to either HelloTxt or Ping.FM which then distributes to your various social channels – basically a fully automated process from your wordpress blog to huge number of social networks.
I find them both as useful as eachother but what do you think?
Both sites require you to request an API key if you are posting status updates to their sites automatically.
