Napster Finally Shuts Down
Napster was the origional Peer to Peer music software sharing platform, created by Sean Parker (who now has major stakes in Facebook, Spotify, Plaxo, and others).
Napster had consistent legal issues since it’s inception, mainly Music companies prosecuting Napster for allowing the distribution of their content illegally.
As a result the company has changed hands many times, and also it’s business model continually evolved.
Best Buy purchased Napster some time ago and is merging the system with their music subscription service, Rhapsody.
Napster is now no more.
