Oracle Suing Google Over Android OS
Oracle Corporation is suing Google over the Android Operating System. It is claimed that Google has infringed on Oracle’s Java-related intellectual property patents, that Oracle purchase in the Sun Microsystems acquisition.
The Java code is also copyrighted and Oracle is saying Google never paid a license to use the software.
Oracle is requesting monetary compensation and also that all Java code ‘impounded and destroyed or otherwise reasonably disposed of.’
It seems more and more companies are now going after Google – and Oracle v Google is certainly going to be one fight. More to come as it unfolds.
