Solo Goes Social


Solo and the Qantas Socceroos have teamed up to create a new social media campaign which is designed to help gather supporters in the lead up to this years soccer World Cup in South Africa.

I first got the heads up of the campaign when I pulled up behind a truck showing this signage:

The moving billboard prompted me to search ‘solo thirst crusher’ on Facebook – so I did.

The page allows followers and fans to help show their support by doing things like changing their status updates, changing profile pictures and sending in videos of you doing all sorts of crazy stuff in undies.

It’s a great social media campaign and all for a good cause.

Offline advertising once again directing people to the online space – something that is going to become more and more popular as Australian brands realise the potential of social media marketing.

The campaign also utilises Twitter, Youtube and Flickr.
