Twitter buys Tweetie iPhone app

Last month Twitter purchased the popular Tweetie iPhone application, developed by Loren Brichter @ Atebits

In the coming weeks according to Twitter the app will be renamed “Twitter for iPhone” and be made free (instead of the current price $3.99)

Tweetie has been praised as one of the most advanced iPhone applications with such features as Geo-location, live stream, timeline view, multiple account integration + a raft of other features not found on in many other Twitter clients.
