Twitter Reaches 288 Million Monthly Active Users, Growth Slows

Twitter has announced in their latest earnings call that users growth for the service has increased 4 million over the last quarter as the social network now has 288 million monthly active users worldwide.
Many people are speculating that Twitter’s growth has stalled, only adding 4 million new active members over the past 3 months – whereas other social networks like Facebook and Instagram add tens of millions of new users.
However Twitter’s revenue for the quarter reached US$479 million, surpassing analysts’ expectations.
Twitter has also signed a deal with Google to share Twitter’s data and tweets through Google Searches. Twitter previously cancelled such contract with Google and has already had a long standing search deal with Microsoft/Bing. It looks like Twitter is now pushing hard to boost all revenue streams.
