Twitter Video hosting service, TwitVid, has recently created and launched a new advertising platform called SocialAds.

The purpose of this new advertising platform with SocialAds is rather straightforward – to get the advertiser more Twitter followers of your Twitter account and also more retweets of your content. The service is initially being aimed and brands and big corporations.

You need to setup an account where then you setup an ad campaign.

TwitVid boast celebrity clients such as Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, The Jonas Brothers and more. They also work with sporting associations like the NBA and also PGA.

Ads are displayed within the videos hosted on TwitVid (similar to hows its done on YouTube) and you only pay when there is a follow or re-tweet occurring from the ad.

Ad cost is on a bidding system which starts at:
$1 per follower
75 cents per retweet

Higher bids receiving more prominent positions on the videos.

TwitVid has said during private beta of the new advertising platform, SocialAds, some companies amassed hundreds of followers over a couple hour period. 2% of users who were shown an ad continue to follow the brand on Twitter.

It will be interesting to see how this new product pans out and which companies take us this added social media advertising.
