What is Pinterest?

A new social media website is taking the world by storm – http://pinterest.com/

According to Alexa.com Pinterest is currently the 110th most popular website in the world, with a but on your average weekday is around the 60th most popular website in the world – so it’s getting HUGE traffic, particularly in the USA.

What exactly is Pinterest?

Pinterest is basically an online pinboard where you can upload different pieces of your content (specifically pictures) into customisable groups, eg work stuff, home, Sydney, favourite books, favourite movies etc.

May not seem like much, but this site is super popular and kinda fun to use too.

At the moment the site is in ‘invitation’ mode so when you signup it may be a couple days till you can get in and use the site.

It looks like a few businesses are already using the site to promote their products, particularly physical businesses and retailers.

Pinterest also have an iPhone application downloadable from the AppStore.
