on February 22, 2011 | WordPress | Comments (1)

WordPress makes life so easy for us at times, and even upgrading to their latest version is usually a simple task.

WordPress are constantly releasing updates and improvements to their blogging platform, but what is the best way to upgrade WordPress? Simply clicking ‘automatic update’ button and hoping everything just works out? Not really..

Firstly – it’s crucial you keep frequent updates of your database files.

I have found a good plugin for this is WP-DB-Backup.

I recommend you take a backup of your WordPress database atleast once per week. This is where all your post content is kept.

Here is a nice infograph by WPbeginner.com giving you a good overview of the best practices when upgrading your WordPress installation.

Happy Blogging!
