Apple Announces the New iPad Mini & 4th Gen iPad

On November 2, Apple will start shipping their latest tablet release – the new iPad Mini.

The device will weigh just 0.31KG and 7.2mm thin, making it 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner than the current iPad 3.

Preorders will begin on October 26 (the same day Windows 8 is realeased) – it’s going to be a huge day in tech. The new tablet starts at US $329 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi only version.

For the internals of the iPad Mini, it has similar hardware to the iPad 2 in a smaller frame. However it is important to know the iPad Mini does not have the retina display like the latest iPhone’s and iPad’s.

4G / LTE versions of the iPad Mini will also be available and it’s worth knowing that the power connection will be the same lighting connection as we’ve seen in the iPhone 5.

In addition to this news about the new iPad Mini, Apple has unveiled the new generation iPad (iPad 4). It will have the same A6X chip as the iPhone 5 which drastically improves the CPU performance and speed of the device.
