Apple Releases iOS 4.3.1 with key bug fix

Well i hope it is a key bug fix.

I wrote previously about Vodafone, and how their service (mainly data services, 3G access) have been pretty bad with very slow speeds in Sydney CBD areas.

It seems they have been getting better over the past couple weeks as their network is being upgraded and from a recruitment perspective it does seem they are hiring a lot of new Telco engineers.

But Vodafone is not totally to blame for the poor services we get. The iPhone is not exactly the best ‘phone’ as it can something get a jammed network, not receiving calls, failed txt messages (or even the situation when txts are ‘successfully’ sent but not received by the receiving party – this is actually more a telco issue, but jammed network does seems to be a common issue with the iPhone).

Apple has released iOS 4.3.1 which has the following bug fix:

Resolves bugs related to activating and connecting to some cellular networks

Hopefully this stops the iPhone from losing its network connection as often, coupled with Vodafone improving its network infrastructure it looks like service is improving. I will keep an eye if this update does indeed make a noticeable difference.

We still have a long way to go and hopefully improvements continue.
