Foursquare 3.0 Released for iPhone/ iPad

Geolocation application, Foursquare – has released version 3.0 of their iPhone/ iPad application.

This is a whole new design and comes with 3 main areas of improvement and development.

1. Personalised Recommendations

Using data from your friends and the entire Foursquare community (check-ins and tips), there is now a new explore tab that will give you insights on places to go and things to try.

2. Point system / Leaderboard

Foursquare have updated the way their leaderboard works, so go give your friends a run for their money who can check-in to the most new places every week.

3. More Specials

The new version will allow for more specials to be run and also setup by advertisers. There are many new ways a business can rewards you for your loyalty – you no longer have to be just the mayor to get rewarded.

There are also a number of bug fixes and enhancements. You will need iOS 4.0 or higher to run the app.
