Google to Introduce +1 button, similar to Facebook Like Button

on March 31, 2011 | Google Search | Comments (0)

Google is introducing a new Social Feature whereby users are able to mark their approval or a website, product or online property with a +1 mark.

This feature by Google will be directly integrated into Google’s web search and Adwords.

You will need to be logged into your Google Account/ Profile to take advantage of this feature.

Google will be holding an experimental relase soon and you can signup to beta access of this product here: http://www.google.com/experimental/index.html

I would expect Google will also make this feature available to Website owners so users can +1 their content as they do with Facebook.

I think this is an interesting move by Google, into a space that is already supremely dominated by Facebook – so no doubt there will be a lot of commentary on how this evolves.

Here is a video from Google explaining +1
