Finally Instagram for Android is almost here.

Co-Founder, Kevin Systrom has confirmed at SXSW that the Android version of their popular photo social network is almost here and in the Androir Marketplace (or Google Play as it has recently been re-branded).

Systrom also went on to mention that Instagram has hit 27 million registered users and engagement levels similar to Facebook.

According to recent Venture Capitalist fund raising – Instagram is valued near $500 million USD and they don’t even have a revenue model established.

Instagram was actually voted iPhone app of the year in 2011 by Apple.
