Instagram Totally Disables Photo Viewing On Twitter

on December 10, 2012 | Instagram | Comments (0)

Instagram has just rolled out a change to their Twitter integration which means users no longer can view Instagram photos on Twitter.com at all.

When you share an Instagram photo to Twitter, it is now simply a link back to the Instagram.com website.

Twitter has recently been making a whole load of changes to limit developers and get all users on official Twitter apps. Twitter also recently disabled Find My Friends API access for Instagram, but left it on for other social networks like Foursquare.

For example, look at this tweet this morning by Ricki Lee sharing an Instagram picture:

Tweet link: https://twitter.com/TheRickiLee/status/277901816493142017

On your mobile devices you get the exact same user experience.

Maybe Instagram is getting a little back at Twitter (and so they should IMO).

Of course now that Instagram has their own web presence they want to direct as much traffic there as possible for the user experience and future monetisation plans.
