iPad numbers by Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs has given us some insightful comments into the iPad at yesterdays Apple WWDC.
In particular the iBooks and iBookstore is looking especially promising for Apple and its publishers.
Steve gave us the following stats about the iPad yesterday.
– 2,000,000 iPads sold since April, that’s once every 3 seconds.
– 8500 native iPad applications +(200,000 iPhone/ iPod touch applications that work on the iPad).
– 35,000,000 applications downloaded onto the iPad so far. That’s 17 apps per iPad.
– 5,000,000 eBooks sold which is 22% of the eBook market.
– The iPad will be available in 19 countries by the end of July.
